The book had a past/present narrative that usually focused on main character Jessica, but sometimes included the POVs of other characters. We had such a great discussion about the book. The novel is told by time-hopping between then and now which worked perfectly with the plot! So, prepare to be enlightened, heartbroken, conflicted, teary eyed, angry, and wowed all in one book. Other than that Great storyline with diverse characters. It is part coming-of-age, part murder mystery, part about accepting oneself, and part finding true love. GENRE: Adult Mystery/Thriller.
I just recommend keeping a little chart of who is who until you get far enough along in the novel that you no longer need it.
